This one sounds weird but it is REALLY yummy (plus it's loaded with vitamin C).  Enjoy!

 

 

Ingredients:

1/2 c. canned pumpkin

1 c. skim milk

1/2 c - 1 c. ice

1 tsp. honey

1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice

1 scoop vanilla protein powder

Preparation:

Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.

Note: When making smoothies, always put in the liquid ingrdients FIRST. This will prevent all of your solid ingredients getting stuck at the bottom.

Nutritional information: Calories: 291, Protein: 29 g, Fat: 5 g, Carbs: 38 g., Fiber: 5 g.

Thanks for this recipe. I have some real pumpkins at home, so I'll try it with
that. A note about protein powder: I find that the ingredients on the sides of
protein powder packages are difficult to read. Mine had aspartame in it, so I
had to return it because the stuff gives me headaches. The next batch I got
turned out to have some cane sugar extract (although not much) plus stevia. The
amount was tolerable, but still you have to be careful when adding bananas,
soymilk, yogurt, etc., because it adds up.

Yummmmmmm!!! Thank you for the idea! Agree with Jean. Too many chemicals in
most protein powders. I will sub whole milk for the skim (fat is not bad!),
agave nectar for honey, and add spirulina powder instead of protein powder.

Choose an all natural, unflavoured protein powder and add your sweetener and
flavoring of choice and you won't have to deal with all the additives. it's dead
easy to add some pure vanilla and honey or stevia. There are all natural
flavored ones as well if you prefer that.
